Near Amarillo, Texas, the three members Chip Lord, Hudson Marquez and Dough Michels of the San Francisco artist group "Ant Farm" created the public art installation Cadillac Ranch in 1974. This unique sculpture consists of ten old and used Cadillacs from 1949 to 1963, each car with the front buried at the same angle in the ground of a geek field. For Dough Michels, the cars' tail fins in their rolling sea of corn were like cavorting dolphins in the ocean. Another interpretation is that of the "Stonehenge for America".

While the idea of the sculpture remains the same, this work of art is constantly changing with the help of the visitors. Many make the long drive to the Cadillac Ranch to spray or paint the artwork.

This work was created in 1999 based on a photo I took in 1998.
